- Peter B. Coffin President
Prior to founding Breckinridge Capital Advisors, Inc. in 1993, Peter was a Senior Vice President with Massachusetts Financial Services (MFS.) At MFS, he managed municipal bond portfolios totaling over $2 billion and supervised the management of another $3 billion. He also was a member of the firm's Fixed Income Policy Committee, which oversaw the management of close to $20 billion in bond portfolios. Peter Coffin began his career in fixed income as an credit analyst at The Connecticut National Bank and Aetna Life, & Casualty. He received a B.A. with honors in Classical Studies from Hamilton College in 1982. He has been a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Boston Municipal Analysts Forum and served a term on the Municipal Securities Rule Making Board (MSRB). He speaks regularly at conferences on topics related to the management of fixed income portfolios and his comments on the developments in the fixed income markets are regularly reported in numerous publications. - David J. Madigan Chief Investment Officer
David joined Breckinridge in November of 2003 and has over 20 years of experience in the municipal bond market. Previously David was Executive Vice President at Thomson Financial where he was responsible for development and production of all global fixed income research products. He is currently serving on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board as a public representative for investors and on the Town of Duxbury Board of Selectmen. David gained expertise in fixed income portfolio management as a Private Bank asset manager for Bankers Trust and at Prudential Insurance where he managed single state municipal bond funds. David held the position of Chief Municipal Strategist for Merrill Lynch and was often quoted in the press, was a featured presenter at institutional conferences and was named to the Institutional Investor All Star list. His research on municipal bond risk management was published in 1994 in The Handbook of Municipal Bonds and in 1996 in Derivatives Risk and Responsibility. He received a B.B.A .in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago. -
Martha F. Hodgman, CFA Executive Vice President
Martha joined Breckinridge in September of 2001 as a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Martha came from Loomis Sayles & Co., L.P. where she managed both municipal and corporate bond portfolios for pension funds, endowments, insurance companies, taxable trusts and wealthy individuals as a Vice President in the Fixed Income Management Group. Martha also managed an open-end national municipal bond fund for Loomis Sayles from 1993 to 2001. Martha's portfolio management experience began at John Hancock Advisors, Inc. where she managed a national municipal money market fund and a series of state specific open-end tax-exempt mutual funds. Martha's career in fixed income began at Putnam Investments in 1981 where she was an analyst and member of the firm's Credit Policy Committee. Martha has a B.A. in East Asian History from Trinity College and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. - Susan S. Mooney Senior Vice President
Susan joined Breckinridge in February of 2007 as a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Susan has over 20 years of investment experience and most recently was Director of Fixed Income and Principal at Freedom Capital Management, LLC., where she managed institutional fixed income assets for pension funds, corporations and endowments. She began her investment career at Harbor Capital Management, Co., Inc. in 1979 and was named Director of Fixed Income in 1993 and Managing Director in 2000. At Harbor Capital she was responsible for formulating investment strategy and managing both institutional and high net worth fixed income portfolios. She managed both taxable and tax-exempt assets encompassing all sectors; Treasuries, Agencies, Corporates, Mortgage Backed, Asset Backed and Municipals. She currently holds her series 65 and received her B.A. from Union College. She is also a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, the CFA Institute and The Boston Economic Club. - Matthew C. Buscone Senior Vice President
Matt joined the Trading team in August of 2002 and transitioned to Portfolio Management in 2008. He has over 18 years of experience in the municipal bond market. Prior to joining the firm, Matt was a Trader at Mellon Private Asset Management where he was responsible for the tax exempt trading in over two thousand individual trust accounts and assisted with trading on six municipal bond funds. Prior to Mellon, Matt was a Portfolio Manager at David L. Babson and Co. for both taxable and tax exempt money market portfolios. While at David L. Babson, Matt also had trading responsibilities for the separately managed municipal accounts. Matt graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI. -
Ji Young Jung Vice President
Ji Young joined Breckinridge in October 2010 as a member of the Credit Research team. She transitioned to Portfolio Management in March 2012 as Portfolio Analyst and was promoted to Portfolio Manager in March 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Ji Young was a Credit Analyst in the Public Finance Group at Assured Guaranty. She began her career at Financial Security Assurance where she analyzed municipal and corporate bonds. Ji Young is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Boston Municipal Analyst Forum. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University.

- Neil Grabowski Director of Credit Research
Neil joined Breckinridge in May of 2008 as a Senior Vice President and Director of Research. He has over 30 years experience. Prior to joining the firm, Neil was Director of Municipal Bond Research at Gannett Welsh & Kotler, LLC. Neil began his career at Aetna Life & Casualty in Hartford where he directed municipal research and managed insurance portfolios. He also has held research positions at the Colonial Group and Wellington Management. Neil is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Boston Municipal Analyst Forum. He holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut. - Adam Stern Director of Municipal Research
Adam joined Breckinridge in September 2009 and now serves as the Director of Municipal Research. Formerly, he was the Chief Financial and Policy Analyst for Connecticut's association of towns and cities. His writing on municipal insolvency and public pension law has appeared in The Bond Buyer, the daily newspaper of public finance. He has also authored two academic articles on the history of Connecticut's personal income tax and state budget. Adam holds a J.D. from the University of Connecticut, an M.P.A. from Syracuse University, and a B.A. from Amherst College. - Nicholas S. Elfner Director of Corporate Research
Nick joined Breckinridge in March of 2009 as Vice President of Research and now serves as the Director of Corporate Research. He has 20 years of industry experience and most recently was Vice President at Wellington Management where he researched and managed corporate bonds. He also held senior research positions with Merrill Lynch in New York and Toronto. While at Merrill, he was recognized by two fixed-income investor surveys as a ranked analyst for corporate bond research. He began his career at Smith Barney in Tokyo as an assistant bond trader. Nick is a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Fixed Income Analysts’ Society. He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and earned his M.B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. -
Christopher Woodward, CFA Vice President
Chris joined Breckinridge in 1999 to assist with portfolio management and municipal bond analysis. He has over 19 years of municipal experience that began at Putnam Investments. He earned his CFA designation in 2001, and followed by serving as a program Instructor. Chris supports analysis of the firm's corporate bonds. He was previously a Senior Database Security Analyst with Scudder Kemper Investments. Chris received a B.S. in Business Finance from Ithaca College. He is a member of the Boston Municipal Analysts Forum, the CFA Institute, and the Boston Security Analysts Society. -
Robert J. Fernandez, CFA Vice President
Rob joined Breckinridge in April of 2010 as a Vice President of Research. He has 11 years of experience and most recently was Senior Research Analyst at Opus Investment Management where he analyzed corporate and municipal bonds. Rob began his career in credit research at State Street Bank as a participant in its commercial loan officer development program. He has also held commercial credit analyst positions at Cambridge Savings Bank and Eastern Bank. Rob is a member of The Boston Security Analysts Society, the CFA Institute and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. He holds a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Boston University. -
Alriona Costigan Vice President
Alriona joined Breckinridge in June of 2002. Previously, she was employed by Zurich Scudder in Dublin, Ireland in their portfolio administration group. Alriona holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Kemmy School of Business at the University of Limerick, Ireland, a Certificate in Investment Management from Dublin City University, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Limerick and a BA in Economics from the University College Dublin. She is also a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Boston Municipal Analyst Forum. -
Sweta Singh Vice President
Sweta joined Breckinridge in October of 2010. Sweta brings with her over 10 years of municipal and corporate research experience. Prior to joining the firm, Sweta held research positions at Income Research and Management and Wellington Management. Sweta also worked for New York State Division of Budget in its Debt Management Unit overseeing bond issuance for the State and Public Authorities. Sweta holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, an M.P.A. from University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from State University of New York at Albany. She is the Vice President for the Boston Municipal Analysts Forum and also a member of the National Association of Municipal Analysts. She has assisted with NFMA’s white paper on expert work products and its response to the GASB’s preliminary views on Postemployment Benefit Accounting and Financial Reporting. - Abigail Ingalls Senior Analyst
Abigail joined Breckinridge’s Client Administration team in June 2009 and transitioned to Credit Research as an Associate in September of 2009. In February 2013, she was promoted to Senior Analyst. She is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, a member of the Associates Committee of the Women in Public Finance – Boston Chapter, and an adjunct member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. Abigail holds a B.S. in Psychology from Tufts University and is currently pursuing her M.B.A. at the Boston University School of Management - Benjamin M. Smelser Senior Analyst
Ben joined Breckinridge in May 2010 as a member of the Client Administration Team. In January 2011, he transitioned to the Credit Research Team as an Associate and was promoted to Senior Analyst in February 2013. Ben is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and an adjunct member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Southeastern University and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Bentley College. - Khurram Gillani Analyst
Khurram joined Breckinridge in June 2012. Most recently, he was a Municipal Credit intern at C.W. Henderson & Associates. Prior to that, Khurram was as an Options and Derivatives Research Analyst at TDD Options. Khurram is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Fixed Income Analysts Society. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a M.S. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. - Kevin Lehman Analyst
Kevin joined Breckinridge in January 2013. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Investment Banking Intern at Sustainable Development Capital where he helped financial institutions, corporations and developers structure and raise capital for large-scale renewable energy and sustainable development projects. Before attaining his M.S., Kevin also was an equities trader at Kirby York, a New York-based hedge fund. Kevin has an M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a B.A. in Psychology and Accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University.

- Lisa Winslow Vice President
Lisa joined the firm in May of 2000. Lisa has over 30 years of experience in municipal bond trading and portfolio management. She joined The Bank of Boston in 1978 where she worked in the municipal trading and underwriting area until 1990. Lisa transferred to Eagle Investment where she was responsible for all tax-exempt trading for the trust, custodial and agency accounts. She was also the Portfolio Manager for the bank's money market funds with assets totaling over $6 billion. Lisa is a member of the Municipal Bond Club of Boston. Lisa attended Salem State College. - Anthony Greco Vice President
Anthony joined Breckinridge in August of 2004 as a member of the Client Administration Team. In addition to his first role as a Client Service Representative, he has also held positions relating to account reconciliation and portfolio management support. In July of 2008 he transitioned to his current role as a member of the trading team. Anthony earned a B.S. in Accounting from Stonehill College in 2004. - Sara Chanda Vice President
Sara joined Breckinridge in July 2010 as a Trader. Previously, Sara was a Vice President and Trader at Eaton Vance Management responsible for trading various specialty state mutual funds. In addition, she oversaw their Separately Managed Account trading and operations while focusing on systems automation projects. Prior to Eaton Vance, Sara was responsible for municipal bond trading at Fidelity Investments. Sara began her career at State Street Bank & Trust Company. Sara holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Providence College and an M.B.A. from Boston University. -
Jeffrey Glenn, CFA Vice President
Jeff joined Breckinridge’s Trading team in May 2012. He has over 15 years of investment experience and was most recently an Associate Portfolio Manager/Analyst at Brandes Investment Partners. In this role, he researched and traded corporate bonds. Prior to Brandes Investment Partners, Jeff was an Associate Director at Banc One Capital Markets where he was responsible for covering investment grade utility credits. Jeff began his career at Old Republic Asset Management as an Investment Analyst. Jeff holds a B.A. from Union College and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Phil joined Breckinridge in October 1998. Previously, Phil spent 10 years on the municipal dealer side in institutional sales and trading. Prior to working exclusively in the municipal market, Phil was an Investment Officer at the Shawmut Bank of Boston and managed one of the bank's repurchase agreement portfolios. He was a member of the Municipal Bond Club of Boston and has held NASD Series 7, 63 and 52 licenses and currently holds his series 65 license. Phil received a B.A. in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. - Christopher J. Day Senior Vice President
Chris joined the Consultant Relations team at Breckinridge in January of 2004. Previously, he spent 3 years in institutional sales at Decision Economics, Inc., a macro-economic consulting firm based in Boston. At Decision Economics, his primary responsibilities were business development and relationship management for the firm's Global Macro hedge fund and proprietary trading desk clients. He started his career in the Marketing department of Putnam Investments. Chris currently holds his NASD series 65 license and graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Government & Legal Studies. - Timothy J. Coffin Senior Vice President
Tim joined Breckinridge's Consultant Relations team in May 2012. Tim has over 20 years of experience in the fixed income markets. Most recently, Tim was a Vice President at Fidelity Investments where he launched and managed the firm's Municipal Finance Group within Fidelity Capital Markets. In that capacity, his group was responsible for average annual underwriting engagements in excess of $30 billion. Prior to Fidelity, he spent over 10 years with Corby Capital Markets where he managed sales and marketing and served his last 3 years as the firm's President. Additionally, Tim was an institutional salesman with both Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and RBC Dain Rauscher. Tim has served as Governor of the Municipal Bond Club of Boston and has held FINRA licenses; Series 7, 63, 24 & 53. He currently holds his series 65 and received his B.A. from Hobart College. -

James joined the Consultant Relations team at Breckinridge in October of 2010 and has over 11 years of experience in the industry. Previously, he spent over 8 years at Gannett Welsh & Kotler, LLC. where his primary responsibilities included business development and relationship management within the firm’s Sales and Client Service group. He started his career in the Mutual Funds department at Loomis Sayles & Co., L.P. as an associate in the Sales and Marketing Group and then as an a Quantitative/Performance Analyst in the Fund Administration Group. James currently holds his NASD series 65 license and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. Katie joined Breckinridge in April 2010 and was promoted to Vice President and Director of Marketing in March 2013. She has over 8 years of investment marketing and communications experience. Prior to joining Breckinridge, she spent 5 years at Boston-based investment management firm State Street Global Advisors (SSgA). At SSgA, she held marketing roles within the company’s Consultant Relations and Fixed Income Investment teams. Prior to this, she worked as a Mortgage Closer for Resource Bancshares Mortgage Group (RBMG). J.W. serves as Breckinridge’s Director of Client Services. After an initial year with Breckinridge from 2003-2004, he returned in January 2006 as part of the Consultant Relations team and assumed his current role in 2011. Prior to his return to Breckinridge, J.W. spent 2 years with a Boston-based investment consulting firm where his responsibilities included manager search and selection, along with relationship management for both their institutional and private client divisions. He started his career in financial services in 2002 with Brown Brothers Harriman in their Global Custody group. J.W. currently holds his NASD series 65 license and graduated from Gettysburg College with honors with a B.A. in Economics and a concentration in Japanese Studies. - Adam J. Maietta Associate

Andrew joined Breckinridge in November 2002 as Chief Operating Officer. He assumed the additional role of Chief Compliance Officer in November 2006. Andrew has over 25 years experience managing professional service organizations. Prior to joining Breckinridge, Andrew was President of AM Consulting where he consulted to a select group of clients in the financial service and legal markets with a focus on technical strategy and implementation and executive level operational support. From 1983 through 1995, Andrew was a principal in Legal Support Services, a technology consulting firm providing technical expertise and strategies to professional services companies. Andrew has a B.A. in Psychology from Dartmouth College and a M.B.A. from Boston University. - Kathy Washburn Vice President
Kathy serves as Breckinridge’s Sustainability Officer and Vice President of Business Integration. Kathy returned to Breckinridge in 2007 having previously worked at Breckinridge from 1995-2001. Prior to her original Breckinridge employment, she spent 3 years at Colonial Management as a Trader and 3 years at Massachusetts Financial Services (MFS). At MFS, Kathy served as a Trading Assistant and Quantitative Analyst for various municipal mutual funds teams. She started her career as a Trading Assistant at Putnam Investments and brings over 25 years of experience to Breckinridge. Jesse joined Breckinridge in February 2011 and serves as the Director of Development. He has over 10 years of experience designing and managing large-scale distributed systems. Previously, he was a Senior Web Systems Engineer for Aetna, where he specialized in online information security, infrastructure design, and performance analysis. He also represented Aetna at Microsoft's Interoperability Executive Council, a consortium dedicated to creating standards across emerging internet technologies. Prior to Aetna, Jesse was a Systems Developer at the University of Connecticut where his responsibilities included development of online education systems, external/internal web portals, and public facing web entities. He started his career in 2001 with Sennheiser Electronics Corp, as manager of North American Marketing and Ecommerce websites.
