Corporate Sustainability
At Breckinridge, sustainability is a key strategic priority. We believe companies that create value for all are more competitive and resilient over the long term.
Well aligned with our mission and core values, we’ve made commitments to:
- Consider all stakeholders through our Benefit Corporation designation.
- Practice transparency and accountability on our sustainable impacts through our B Corp certification1 and reporting to GRI, SASB Standards, and TCFD.
- Invest responsibly as a signatory to stay aligned with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
Breckinridge has a long-standing Sustainability Committee that supports management and the Director of Corporate Sustainability in their oversight of these commitments. The Committee, supported by executive leadership and our Board of Directors, looks to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint, deepen community support, and improve firm culture around sustainability initiatives.
Corporate Giving & Volunteering
Community Outreach
An integral component of our strategy is our engagement within the communities where we live, work and invest. Philanthropy, sustainability-aligned giving, and volunteerism form the foundation of our community engagement efforts. Breckinridge continuously fosters deep employee involvement in our charitable and volunteer activities. Annually, we aim to donate a portion of our pre-tax profits, run a nonprofit grant program, and offer employees a donation matching benefit and time off to volunteer.
1In order to achieve B Corp certification, a company must complete the B Impact Assessment and Disclosure Questionnaire and then get verified by an analyst from B Lab Global. B Corps must be recertified every three years and pay an annual fee. https://www.bcorporation.net/en-us/certification
*Beginning in 2025, Breckinridge is donating 5% of pre-tax profits annually. Previously, representing the period between 2003-2024, we committed to 1% of gross revenue annually.
