Breckinridge’s U.S. Corporate Ladder is constructed using a rules-based framework that allocates assets to a series of investment grade U.S. Corporate bonds in staggered maturities, within a client-specified target maturity range. Breckinridge seeks to generate a predictable stream of cash flows with focus on preservation of capital.

Portfolios are built by leveraging the firm’s top-down investment committee views combined with rigorous fundamental credit research that aims to identify liquid, relatively attractive and stable issuers, while avoiding deteriorating credits.

Purchased bonds are typically held to maturity and cash flows are reinvested with a goal of maintaining diversification across maturities, sectors, and credit quality. Ladder portfolio holdings are continuously monitored by our research team through our rules-based proprietary system and may be traded prior to maturity if prompted by a credit event, client-requested cash flow, realignment with rules, or similar circumstances.
