On her role…

“I am a senior municipal research analyst at Breckinridge. I am responsible for analyzing state and local government issuers, non-profit hospital systems and airports.

On a typical work day…

“A typical day for me involves assisting our portfolio managers and traders through my analysis of new bond offerings coming to market and the review of issuers that we already own. On an ongoing basis, I’m analyzing issuers, detailing my analysis in comprehensive credit reports and discussing my opinions with the investment team so that they can make more informed decisions.

On what she finds most fulfilling…

“One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is analyzing a really complex issuer that takes a while to wrap my head around and arriving at a clear, concise and thoughtful rating decision. I enjoy uncovering aspects of issuers that are not in published rating agency reports and helping drive better investment decisions.

On what makes Breckinridge stand apart…

"I believe it is the emphasis the firm places on fundamental, bottom-up analysis. Research is really the core of our investment process, which I don’t think is consistent across our industry. This focus on research is a unique aspect of our company and sets us apart from our competitors.

On what brought her to Breckinridge…

“Primarily, it was the opportunity to work for an innovative firm with a passion for research. The success of the firm was important to me as well. I was also excited by the opportunity to leverage my rating agency research experience to the buy-side. I am very happy to be here. I think this is an exceptional place to work and grow professionally.

On Breckinridge’s collaborative, open-mindedness…

“Employees at Breckinridge are very supportive of new ideas and are open to thinking outside the box. Our research analysts are enthusiastic and excited about credit. Management encourages the discussion of ideas and opinions without judgment. It’s a very free-thinking, analytically rigorous environment that I think leads to better research and investment decision making.
