The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) initiative is an international network of investors working together to put the six Principles for Responsible Investment into practice.
At Breckinridge, we believe that sustainability is instrumental in driving business success. Companies that create value for all their stakeholders are more competitive and resilient over the long term.
We view sustainability as a key strategic priority. As a B Corp, we believe our business can and should be a force for good, and this philosophy permeates all that we do. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our investment decisions, daily business activities and community outreach. Through a wide range of corporate sustainability initiatives, we strive to contribute to addressing important social and environmental issues.
As an asset manager, the most effective way we can integrate sustainability into our business is through our investment decisions on behalf of our clients. To this end, we have developed a premier environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration capability.
Our ESG integration philosophy is aligned with the United Nations backed Principles for Responsible Investment. As a PRI signatory we are committed to its core principles and outpace our peers in our performance on key performance indicators.*
As part of our commitment to the PRI, we aim to create a broader dialogue about sustainability, ESG integration, and long-term value creation within the investor community. As such, we continue to partner with a wide variety of leading organizations such as Ceres, CDP, SASB and others.

Benefit Corporation and B Corp Status
Just as we value issuers that prioritize sustainability, we at Breckinridge are committed to the environment and the communities in which we live, work, and invest. To this end, we have integrated sustainability considerations into our day-to-day business activities.
We are proud of our status as a certified B Corp and a Massachusetts registered Benefit Corporation. As a B Corp, we join a rich community of businesses that aim to serve as a force for good, including Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, and Warby Parker, among others. Our legal status as a Massachusetts registered Benefit Corporation ensures that our sustainability mission is legally protected. By proactively seeking these designations, we were able to solidify our corporate sustainability efforts and firmly establish their significance within our business.
Our focus on corporate sustainability is a key pillar of our culture. Breckinridge empowers employees to scrutinize our practices, identify areas of risk and opportunity, brainstorm areas for improvement, and take action in the areas of environmental impact, employee well-being and corporate governance.
A benefit corporation is a new class of corporation that voluntarily meets different standards of corporate purpose, accountability and transparency.
Our charitable and community outreach efforts further bolster our commitment to driving positive impact by enabling our employees to directly address important social and environmental issues.
Our Regional Giving Program aims to achieve immediate real-world impact. Employees from across the firm collaborate on initiatives of their choice by volunteering their time and helping select charitable organizations for corporate contributions.
We also support individual giving and volunteerism through our Matching Program. Breckinridge matches dollar contributions as well the dollar equivalent value of employee volunteer hours dedicated to registered nonprofit organizations of their choice.
